The House of Luxury unveils wild jungle creatures all fighting for the most desired handbags, fine jewelry, rare watches at Christie’s Winter Auction this season. A collaboration with home décor brand LALA CURIO transforms the floor of Alexandra House, Landmark into a lush jungle with stoic leopards and crocodiles guarding its entry to the viewing of the most spectacular treasures.
The tastemakers of Hong Kong, Christie’s VVIP guest list, were greeted by a special creation by LALA CURIO of a towering Art Deco screen in lacquered Macassar wood. Guest posed and interacted with the stunning jungle scenery of monkeys speculating on binoculars, leopard preying behind reeds, jumping crocodile reaching for Birkins and serpentines intertwined in branches. This special collection is designed to celebrate the joy of collecting Hermès Birkins, a particularly desirable item for the ladies of Hong Kong, assured by the flying colors seen at the highest annual sale total ever in Luxury Handbags and Accessories category for any auction house worldwide.

The top lot of the sale -an Exceptional, Matte White Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Diamond Retourné Kelly 28 With 18k White Gold & Diamond Hardware, Hermès, 2021, sold for HK$4,000,000 / US$515,416, becoming the most valuable handbag ever sold at auction. Another record set was the auction debut of a Rare and Exceptional, Multicolor Feather Embroidery and Étoupe Swift Leather Sellier Mosaïque Kelly 32 With Palladium Hardware, Hermès, 2010, which sold for HK$2,750,000/ US$354,381against the pre-sale low estimate of HK$600,000/ US$77,320.
