LALA CURIO | A House of Wonder Debuts in Paris

Paris Déco Off 2025

Paris Déco Off unfolded as a week of meaningful connection, creative exchange, and shared discovery, marking an important moment for LALA CURIO on the international design stage.

This year, LALA CURIO debuted in Paris as part of a collaborative presentation alongside Jiun Ho and SHIIR Rugs. United by a shared commitment to global artisanship and material storytelling, the three design houses explored how distinct creative practices can intersect. Though varied in expression, each brand is grounded in a reverence for handcraft, heritage techniques, and close collaboration with artisan communities around the world - reflecting a collective belief that craft is not decorative, but foundational.

A highlight of the week was an intimate evening inspired by the spirit of 18th-century Paris. Hosted at the family home and  historic gallery of my dear friend Mikael Kramer, the soiree transported guests into an antique affair that felt suspended in time. Surrounded by centuries of art and objects, the evening celebrated generosity, artistry, and a deep love of history - values that continue to inform LALA CURIO’s creative philosophy.

At the heart of the presentation was the debut of LALA CURIO’s capsule collection created in partnership with the AAPI Design Alliance. The collaboration brings together six notable Asian interior designers — Alicia Cheung, Eric Chang, James Fung, Jean Liu, Jessica Davis, and Peti Lau (link to IG’s) each working closely with founder Laura Cheung Wolf to co-create a bespoke motif. Drawing from personal heritage and cross-cultural memory, the collection reimagines ancestral narratives through contemporary craftsmanship and richly textured materials, bridging past and present with nuance and depth.

The collection was recognized by ELLE Decor among the Next Big Trends in Luxury Textiles and named one of the Best Debuts at Paris Design Week by Business of Home.

As Paris Déco Off came to a close, the week stood as a reminder of the power of shared stories, enduring techniques, and creative exchange across cultures. For LALA CURIO, it marked not just a debut in Paris, but an ongoing exploration of how heritage and imagination continue to shape the next chapter of decorative arts.
