LALA CURIO is launching a brand new collection of Psychedelic Cloud Trees unveiling at Rinascente for Salone del Mobile this April 2018.

Inspiration is derived from the poetic landscapes and flora & fauna of the Orient. A scenery of a majestic Cloud Tree canopy of playful colours and patterns is translated to our signature Silk Wallpaper with three-dimensional embellishments.

Our decorative boxes are hand-painted on silk with Chinoiserie sceneries and mindfully upholstered in light padding with suede interiors.

Our lacquer boxes with our signature Cloisonné Tiles are handmaded by skilled artisans specialising in the lost imperial craft Cloisonné. LALA CURIO’s Cloisonné Tiles are made in bronze with every wire bent into shape by hand and filled in with enamel of succulent colours, fired multiple times and gilded in 18K gold.

Our cushions are made of rare Japanese Obis, the belt of the Kimono, once a precious ceremonial attire is abandoned and becomes no longer of use. Our upcycling efforts to turn these unique intricate fabrics into pillows bring them back a new glory.

Our embroidered cushions with embellishments of nature inspired by Codex Seraphinianus, depicts bizarre fantastical forms of trees, flowers and microbiomes, each mindfully embellished with an array of sparkling paillettes of different forms.

A decorative screen of the imperial craft Cloisonné is powerful and so fashionable. This pink screen of a malachite pattern mimics the grains of stone with its beautiful gradation of colours from natural pigments. Handmade by skilled artisans of Cloisonné in imperial workshops once only serving the Emperor, this contemporary approach gives the lost craft a new light.
