In a famous scene from Studio Ghibli’s Totoro, the gentle giant unsuccessfully finds shelter with a tiny leaf on his head in the pouring rain. The sisters notice and offer their umbrella, bringing immense joy to Totoro. In LALA CURIO’s collection, Fuki leaves like Totoro’s are depicted as swaying canopies. On the wallpaper, each leaf is hand-embroidered with applique onto seagrass which is embroidered with paillettes with subtle gradations, rendering the elegant yet playful form of the Fuki.
