CHA BEI
When exploring bustling Galaxy Macau, the captivating entrance of Cha Bei may stop anyone in their tracks. The pearly lights and very apparent embellished wallpapers may just pull you right in.
With charming and elegant themes, Cha Bei provides a welcoming and pleasing environment to dine in. This luxurious lifestyle cafe is heavily inspired by the tea culture, this being made apparent with the extensive collection of teacups that are displayed.
Founder Joanna Lui describes Cha Bei on their website, “Like people, all tea comes from the same plant - they are just infused and expressed differently through cultures, flavours, colours …but all are beautiful.” Lui also elaborates that Cha Bei means “teacup” and is meaningful to her. Lui unveiled her first fine-dining project in Cha Bei.
As stated by the Hong Kong Tatler, Lui demonstrates the family honour by doing something similar to what her grandfather founded with the Lui Che Woo Prize. Back in April 2015, she founded the Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation which helps give back to Macau and the Greater Region of China. The foundation is currently supporting about 40 different programs. She also established the #ConciousCommuniTea which aims to positively impact society by holding events and workshops.
While Lui’s goal with Cha Bei is special, it must also look special. LALA CURIO was pleased to work with Cha Bei on establishing an efflorescent garden through their exquisite embellished wallpapers, complete with a soft pastel colour palette. Large delicate flowers brim across the expanse of canvas. A whirl of green leaves stems from the frail petals. This beautiful embellished wallpaper is accompanied by a unique swing and other garden-like furnishings. An eloquent and pleasing scenery to enjoy with good company and a meal. One may recognize this beautiful set after it its viral feat across social media platforms. A very Instagramable place that is well-loved with over 5000 posts under the hashtag #chabei. We may just have to take credit for this popular sensation.
As for the meals themselves, one can choose from four choices, ”Healthy & Wholesome Choices,” ”Comfort Choices,” ”Communal Choices” and ”Guilty Choices.” These meals range from healthy and nutritious salads to slow-braised chicken meatballs with tomato concasse. And there is always room for the “guilty choice” of tea-infused desserts.
Cha Bei is intriguing and a one-of-a-kind experience with a charitable background that LALA CURIO worked enthusiastically with their delicate embellished and embroidered wallpapers.
